So you want to lose the jelly belly?

Wanna be an undercracker warrior?

Be ready for the beach?

Good, I’m glad to hear it.

Otherwise they’d be no point in reading these nuggets of wisdom ;-)

Righto…

Let’s get the day started with something I often do…

A short workout and a bit of smoothie magic…

Here’s your workout…

+ Seal Jacks x 50s work/10s rest
+ Prison squats x 50s work/10s rest
+ Cross Body Mountain Climbers x 50s/10s rest
+ Wall Squat w/Stick Ups x 50s work/10s rest
+ Sit-outs x 50s work/10s rest

That’s a total of 5 minutes, but if you’ve got the luxury of extra time this morning, fill your boots and repeat this lot 2-4 times.

Okay, let’s move on…

Breakfast for me is simple.

I’ll either skip it altogether if I’m fasting or I’ll have one of two options.

A) Eggs in some shape shape or form with spinach/tomatoes/avocado/bacon.

B) A smoothie.

Now, cooking up some eggs is a pretty simple task, but getting your smoothie right can be a tricky old game. So…

Here’s my 5 step guide…

1) Add liquid.

Start by adding about 1 cup of liquid to the blender – this is your base.

Ideally go for dairy-free milk, coconut water or plain water.

2) Add fruit or vegetables.

A banana makes for an awesome base in almost any smoothie, as it has a mild taste and a creamy consistency.

Same goes for avocado.

Other fruits and veggies that work really well in smoothies are berries, papaya, mango, pineapple, peaches, and spinach. However…

If losing lard is the goal, I’d steer clear of the really sweet fruits such as mango or papaya for now.

3) Thicken your smoothie.

To get just the right texture, creaminess and thickness, and to balance the acidity from the fruit add a nut butter, coconut cream/natural yoghurt, chia seeds or oats for a smoother, tastier smoothie.

Although, once again if losing belly fat pronto is your goal, then skip the oats for now.

4) Boost flavour.

if you’ve gone with a banana or some other fruit then chances are you won’t need to sweeten your smoothie. Although…

If you’re gone the avocado route with spinach or broccoli, then by god, you’ll need a dash of something!

Think along the lines of honey or maple syrup and maybe throw in a few spices like cinnamon or nutmeg.

5) Add some extra magic.

Throw in things like spirulina, wheatgerm, flaxseed, protein powder, and goji berries for extra va-va voom.

And there you have, my ickle flat belly hunter :)

Start your day with something similar and you’ll make Uncle Gavin proud.

Toodle-pip,

P.S. It’s not long until you’ll be sitting on the beach with a pina colada…

If you’re not quite ready to let your belly loose on the beach, then it could be time for a quick round of this…
