“Crashed and burned!”

I ruddy love that film.

Think I must have seen it close to a hundred times.

Maybe more?!

You know the one I’m talking about, right?

Highway to the danger zone?

“I feel the need, the need for speed”?

If you haven’t got a scooby-doo what I’m on about, then you should be ashamed of yourself.

I thought you were better than that (shakes head in disbelief).

I’m talking about the top 1% of all naval aviators.

Maverick and Goose…?

“TOP GUN” – queue music.

It’s a classic.

Even styled my barnet like Tom Cruise for a couple of years as a kid.

Strange, but sadly true.

Top Gun lovers will already know that you’ve gotta have a wingman.

Someone you can count on.

A person that can help guide you when the going gets tough.

Sames goes for your fitness and fat loss goals.

You need a wingman.

Without having someone to report back to it can be difficult to keep up the consistency.

Some people have a training partner.

Others hire a personal trainer to crack the whip.

And many people join online forums/groups to help keep them focused.

Which ever route you take you need to have someone that isn’t afraid to tell you to “sort your act out” if you’re slacking.

Just like at your job, if you have an assignment due by a certain date you are going to do it because if you DON’T you could possibly get the sack!

One problem though…rubbish friends and family.

If you find your friends and family are always leading you astray then you should give them them a quick poke in the eye and go in search of other wingmen.

When it comes to losing weight and getting fit, advice from close friends and family doesn’t cut the mustard for some reason.

Especially if it’s an ickle bit on the critical side.

It can push a person in the opposite direction.

That’s why it’s often better to find a wingman from outside your close circle of friends and family.

Shit gets serious when you do this.

Consistency will follow and then before you know it, you’ll be strutting your stuff down Slapton Sands nudist beach without a care in the World.

…or something like that!
