You know how I’m not a big fan of slow-go cardio.
Plodding along on a dreadmill for donkeys and looking down at the clock every 15 seconds is not my idea of fun.
I know some peeps love nothing more than to spin around on a hamster wheel.
I won’t take that away from them.
But if you’re looking to lose maximum flubber you’d better listen up Sonny Jim.
A recent study (Med Sci Sports Exerc. 2014) showed that slow-go cardio actually caused many people to GAIN weight.
This study took 81 regular women in their 30′s and put them on a 3 month exercise plan.
This ‘exercise’ was walking on a dreadmill, at a fast pace, for 30 minutes, three times a week.
These women were all carrying a wee bit too much flub, but they were told to NOT change their diet.
The authors of the study were shocked by the results.
Almost 70 percent of these women GAINED weight.
Some putting on a much as 4.5kg/10 pounds.
That’s gotta hurt.
It turns out that cardio causes some people to eat more grub.
That’s definitely something to keep in mind when you’re selecting an exercise program to lose your jelly belly.
And perhaps why so many people running marathons each year are overweight, despite putting in hours of training.
And on that bombshell, I bid you farewell!
