4 handfuls ripe strawberries
2 teaspoons vanilla extract/ 1 vanilla bean
12 tablespoons low-fat live yogurt/soya yoghurt
3 small handfuls crushed ice
Wash and juice the apples.
Remove stalks from strawberries, wash and place in blender.
Either cut open the vanilla bean and scrape out the vanilla pods or add one teaspoon vanilla extract to the blender.
Add yoghurt, apple juice and ice and blend.
Strawberries are abundant in nutrients, minerals, phytonutrients and anti-oxidants. The live yoghurt is full of good bacteria which aid digestion and help to fight bacterial infections of the gut. Vanilla beans taste wonderful and are also recognised for their ability to decrease anxiety and reduce hunger pangs and nausea.
