(4 people) 115g (4oz) dried apricots
115g (4oz) dried prunes
60g (2oz) dried apples
25g (1oz) dried cherries
115g (4oz) plums, halved and stoned
450ml (16fl oz) apple juice
1 tsp grated nutmeg
1 cinnamon stick, broken
Place the dried fruit and plums in a saucepan and pour in the apple juice.
Add the spices, bring to the boil and simmer for 10-15 minutes until the fruits are plump and tender.
Allow the mixture to cool completely in a pan, then transfer the mixture to a bowl and leave to chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
Remove and discard the cloves and cinnamon from the fruit.
Serve with natural yoghurt and/or homemade granola.
