The American Journal of Clinical Dermatology has said that 90% of women will experience cellulite at some point in their lives and if you’re reading this, there’s a good chance you’re one of them!

Unfortunately, there are many women with more severe cellulite than others, which makes baring those body parts a stumbling block. However…

Don’t despair because there are a few things that you can do that’ll have a huge impact and can even prevent further dimpling.

Here are our top 7 cellulite-busting tips:

1. Cardio is key

If you have a bit of extra weight to lose then get your body moving. Aim for short bursts of high intensity cardio exercise which will stimulate fat burning and keep your metabolism primed. Sprint-walking (adding short sprints into your walk), cycling, swimming, are all great for your bod. These will help to burn fat, tone muscle and reduce the appearance of cellulite

2. Stay hydrated

Water not only keeps the skin hydrated and looking plumper and firmer, but it flushes out the toxins which can accumulate in cellulite. Aim for 1.5 litres a day.

3. Follow a diet high in antioxidants

A, C, E, zinc, selenium – help stop the cell damage that can lead to cellulite.  Vitamin C is also crucial for collagen production which keeps cellulite at bay. Eat plenty of fruit and veg, particularly citrus fruits, peppers, berries, broccoli and kiwis.

4. Protein

Aim to include lean meats, nuts, and pulses in your diet as proteins contribute to the production of collagen and elastin which form the skin’s supporting structure and keep it looking firm and tight.

5. Tone up that tushy

Work those dimply areas with toning exercises as toning the muscles underneath will help to reduce the appearance of cellulite. Take the stairs, climb a hill, add a short toning workout into your morning regime and see the improvement.

6. Body brushing

Thought to act by improving circulation and lymphatic drainage, body brushing when incorporated into your daily routine, can help to reduce dimpling in the short term. Brush with a natural bristle brush before you wash. Start at the ankle and, in circular motions, work upwards. Then shower and moisturize.

7. Add collagen

A study carried out in 2015 found that women who supplemented their diet with collagen peptide daily for 6 months showed a significant improvement in skin thickness and cellulite reduction.

BONUS TIP: Know Your Cellulite Type

Leading a healthy and active lifestyle will definitely help reduce the dimpled appearance, but if you want to accelerate this process, it is essential to know which ‘cellulite type’ you are.

There are 3 cellulite type categories (CG1, CG2 and CG3) and the most successful route to dimple free skin very much depends on which category you fall into.

Once you know your cellulite type, it becomes much easier  to smooth out orange peel skin.

Fortunately we have a 30-second quiz that you can take right now to discover your cellulite type and start reversing cellulite today...

The tips mentioned above are perfect for any woman looking to reduce the appearance of cellulite, but if you’d like faster (and long lasting) results, then we recommend you take the cellulite type quiz to discover which cellulite type you are and how best to tackle those pesky dimples.
