I think it’s time to for a lower body bonanza.

Get the old buns working and and give the legs a bit of definition.

You up for that?!


Now, a lot of people never train their legs and that means they’re missing out on some huge fat burning potential.

You see, your legs have some rather large muscles (if you hadn’t noticed, check them out now) and this means you can spike your fat loss hormones and boost your metabolism…

If you exercise them properly.

“But Gavin – I run, cycle and do that cross-trainer thingy each week. That’s enough for my legs, right?”


Running, cycling or going on that “cross-trainer thingy” won’t do the job.

To get the most from your legs and fire up your fat loss, you’ve gotta do some resistance training. No two ways about it…

In my younger days, when I didn’t know any better, I used to skip legs too. But…

Then one day I was chatting to a guy and he told me that I was missing a trick and that if I wanted to see my abs, I needed to fire up the twiglets (aka my legs). So…

That’s what I did and low and behold, my abs started to show :)

This might sound strange…

I mean, why would my abs look better by simply training my legs?

Well, you’ve gotta look at the big picture.

Remember, your legs are made up of some rather large muscles and that’s a whole lot of calorie burning potential.

On top of that, you’re looking to shake up your hormonal mojo with resistance training, which doesn’t just affect your legs, but your entire body.

As I mentioned above, cardio doesn’t cut the mustard when in comes to these factors, but throw in some resistance training and you’ll be flying.

Resistance training can be in the form of bodyweight exercises as you’ll see in my videos below or if you’re more advanced and happy using weights, then things like barbell squats and deadlifts will do a fantastic job too. So…

Make sure your legs are getting just as much focus as your upper body if you want to lose some extra lard and maybe, just maybe, see your abs :)

Okay, let’s crack on with this workout of mine.

First off, let’s get your body warmed-up with this…


Give yourself a minutes rest and jump into this, the 4-minute tabata squat (aka jelly legs)…


Now, most likely your legs are an ickle bit jelly-like after that one, so we’re gonna take the pace down a notch…

All while still targeting your legs and butt :)


And of course, it would be rude, not to finish with a bang! So…

It’s time to speed things up and really get a sweat on with this finisher…
