Whoah, busy morning today with the school run…

Left Mrs W home with the baby and walked my daughter into school.  I love having that one-on-one time with her.

We joked about standing in dog poo and kicking each other up the bum…LOL :) Although, I’m not sure Mrs W would approve, but we had a good old belly laugh about it.

While we were walking into school I saw a few peeps out and about jogging.  The sort of people who looked like they were putting their New Year’s Resolutions into action, rather than your average runner. Same can be said for the gym the other night…

It was ram-a-rellied with faces I’ve never seen, most of which were plodding along on the treadmills and cross-trainers, but at least they’ve made a start.

As you’d imagine most of these people want to lose a few pounds and tone up their wobbly bits. So…

Here’s are few other things they could do to get better results…

1. Add intervals: If you insist on doing cardio, at least throw in some intervals to maximize your results.

Playing with the speed burns more calories than working at a steady pace and it also revs up your metabolism for hours afterwards.

2. Plan on Sunday: Pop your workouts into your calendar for the week on Sunday night.

You’re much more likely to make them happen if a plan is already in place.

3. Get to bed: Hit the hay earlier, and make sure you’re getting at least seven hours of sleep every night. If you’re getting less than 5 hours kip regularly then you’re unlike to lose ANY belly fat, even with a active lifestyle and low calories diet.

Make a rule to be in bed by a certain time and stick to it, at least on school nights anyway!

Once you do this, you’ll start waking up feeling fabulous, energised, and ready to embrace the day.

Plus, it’ll help you lose your jelly-belly.

4. Do bodyweight training: I like going to the gym, but there are times when I just can’t get there. So…

Do I bin my workout and try again tomorrow?


Instead, I bang out a good old bodyweight workout that combines resistance and cardio exercises to rev up my metabolism and keep my bod in check, just like we do in my Lean In 19 program (Hint, hint).

And if I’m feeling fruity I might even throw a kettlebell into the mix to jazz things up a bit.

Listen, don’t be fooled into thinking you need to do 40, 50 or 60 minutes to get great results.

You can bang out an awesome workout in 10-20 minutes and get better results than all those people plodding along on a treadmill any day of the week.

5: Cut back the sugar: If there’s one thing that’ll help you lose lard double quick, it’s cutting back on the sugar.

Sugar spikes the crap out of your insulin and when your insulin is flying high your wobbly bits are going nowhere. So…

Cut back on the obvious like cakes, cookies, candy and fizzy drinks, but also look to cut out things like bread and pasta, which will also help you lose fat and reduce belly bloat.

6. Make your goals public:

And finally, don’t dilly-dally with your goals this year.

If you’re going get serious about losing fat and transforming your body, make your goals public.

Whether it be with your friends and family or in an online forum like my Lean In 19 program has.

If you tell the World it shows your commitment and gives you a level of accountability that many peeps need to be successful.
